Wat Thangsai Temple
This beautiful temple on the mountain is only five minutes from the resort and is well worth a visit. The complex is dedicated to the King and Queen of Thailand and features a large golden sitting Buddha facing the Gulf greeting the sunrise each morning. Behind the golden Buddha are two ‘Yak’ giant demon guardians that feature in Thai folklore. At the top of the hill is the impressive temple which features nine pagodas, a great spot to admire the views as well as the traditional Thai architecture.
Talu Island Snorkeling Spot
Talu Island is a stunning area and popular day trip destination for visitors to the region. Located 50 minutes away, visitors can enjoy snorkelling in the shallow waters teaming with colourful marine life and coral reefs. The nearby beach is lined with coconut trees and is ideal for relaxing and enjoying a picnic lunch.
Huai Yang Waterfalls National Park
This wonderful national park is approximately 30 minutes drive away and features a number of waterfalls and walking trails. The biggest attraction is the seven-tier cascading waterfall located near to the national park office, but while you are here it is worth seeking others such as Kha Aon, Huai Hin Dat and Khao Lan waterfalls.
Ao Bo Thonglang Bay
A beautiful small curved bay with white sand and clear water located about 40 minutes drive from the resort. This is a picturesque spot for relaxing and swimming and has an interesting history as a former battlefield between Thai and Japanese armed forced during the Second World War.
Wat Khao Tham Ma Rong
Situated 30 minutes from the resort this temple cave is a great way to learn about Thai culture and enjoy the adventure of walking in a cave. The temple is built inside a hillside cave where a number of religious statues can be found including a reclining golden Buddha. There are many chambers to explore and some impressive stalactites and stalagmites.
